William McDade and wife Mary of Edgecombe County North Carolina to Thomas Norman of same, in consideration of the sum of twelve pounds current Money of the Colony of Virginia paid by Thomas Norman for one Certain Tract of Land being part of a deed taking up by William Sherrod bearing date November 13,1755. The land being on the East Side of Hatchers Swamp containing 50 acres . This Deed of Sale was in Open Court duly acknowledged and Mary the wife of William McDade was privately questioned by William Haywood Esq. and freely relinquished her Right of Dower to the land.

William McDade having Lawfuly seized and possess in Proper Right as a Good Perfect and absolute Estate of Inheritance has Lawful Authority to sell.

For the sum of Twenty six pounds thirteen shillings and four pence proc. money paid of Ephraim D. Ponder, 120 acres in Hatcher’s Swamp, this being part of a Lord Granville Grant to Wm. McDade bearing date 4th August 1761. Wm. & Mary McDade have Rightful Power and Lawful Authority to sell this parcel of land.

23 Aug 1828. Delilah Macdade to Polly and Elizabeth Macdade . I, Delilah Macdade relinquish to Polly and Elizabeth Macdade, a certain tract of land being a portion of the whole tract of land land bequeathed to us three Polly, Elizabeth and Delilah Macdade by will of our father, Willis Macdade dated the 20th of April 1820, adjoining the lands of Joseph Griffin, Robert Barnes and Redmon Curl, being two thirds of the whole of the abovesaid tract of land which I hereby relinquish and convey to them, for and in consideration of the other third part of land conveyed to me by the said Polly and Elizabeth Macdade , the tract of land containing 200 acres.

Co. for $50, an undivided half of a certain tract of land lying in Tyan Cokey Swamp adjoining the lands of Jesse Price, heirs of Joseph J. Price, William D. 1852, McDade, State of Tennessee DB 26-578

Persponally appeared before me, Will Fitzgerald one of the Judges of the circuits of the State of Tennessee, John McDade, Mary Womble, Selany Womble, Drucilla Morris, Nancy Womble, Benjamin Womble William Morris and P.G. Womble and acknowledged the foregoing to be their act and deed and that they signed sealed and delivered the same to the grantee for the purposes therin mentioned having first examined Selany Womble, wife of Benjamin Womble and Drucilla Morris wife of William Morris and Nancy Womble wife of P. G. Womble then and each of them separate and apart and privily from their husbands and each every one of them doth acknowledge that they and each of them execute the foregoing conveyances freely and of their own accord without fear or compulsion of their husband and doth now freely and voluntarily ascent to the same. This the 4th day of May 1852. Set the foregoing deed be registered by the Register of Edgecombe Co, State of North Carolina In testimony of which Judge as aforesaid affixed his name and signature the year and day above written. 1852, Governor of the State of Tennessee DB 26-579

Campbell, Governor of the State of Tennessee to all who shall see these presents….Greeting: It is hereby certified that Will Fitzgerald whose name appears to the above certificate, is, and was at the time of signing the same, one of the Judges of the circuit courts in and for said state-that said courts are courts of recon & of superior Jurisdiction –that said attestation is in dew form and by the proper officer and that full faith and credit should be given to his official attestation as such. This foregoing deed from William McDade, John McDade, Mary Womble formerly McDade-William Morris & wife Drucillia formerly McDade-Benjamin Womble and wife Selany formerly McDade-Polydemus G Womble and wife Nancy formerly McDade of the county of Carroll of State of Tennessee to Thomas Curl of the county of Edgecombe & state of North Carolina is exhibited in open court for an order of Registration and the court being satisfied upon inspection that the same had been duly acknowledged before a Judge of the Superior court of Tennessee as appeared by the authentications announced thereto together with the Governors seal of said state attached thereto It is ordered that said deed together and with the authentications to be registered. Know all men by these presents, that I, James F. Jenkins Sheriff of the county of Edgecombe C0 by virtue of a writ of Vend. Exps in favour of Robert Ricks=as Adm against William McDade Testes Monday of November 1850 and returnable to Edgecombe county court and to me on the 23rd day of Feby 1852 expose to sale at Public Vender, having advertised the same agreeably to law, one tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county aforesaid, adjoining the lands of Thomas Curl, Jessi Price, & Moses Price, containing by estimation one hundred & 90 acres, at which sale Thomas Curl became the last and highest bidder, in the sum of nine & 25/100 dollars. ($9.25): I do hereby grant to Thomas Curl,possession of the same premises. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day of August 1852
