John Bridgeman by his Attorneys Richard Smith * Thomas Hobson confesseth Judgment to M's Elizabeth Newman Exec'x of Walter Dun dec'd for the paym't of four hundred and ten pounds of Tobacco & Cash due for goods bought out of the said Dec'ed Estate by her Exposed to Sale at outcry and ordered he pay the said sum unto the said Elizabeth Newman in her said Qualificac'on al's Ex'o.

KENNER pay the said sum'e of Seven hundred & Eighty pounds of Tobacco unto them the said ROUT & FRANKLIN with cash after execution.
Peter Bridgeman being sum’oned to attend the court as an Evidence on his behalf of Major Rodham Kenner against McLeonard therefore, and not appearing as ordered to be fined according to law.
Capt. Richard Haynie against John Bridgeman. Dismissed.

Charles Prichard complains against James Crean & Jane his wife Exec'x of Alexander Weatherstone and declares as followeth that Alexander Weatherstone dec'ed at the time of his death stood indebted to the Plt' by account four hundred and forty one pounds of tobacco for which paym't he brought suite agt' the said Deft's as afore mentioned. Whereupon the said cause was put to a jury. John Way brings suit ag’t WILLIAM HARCUM in a plea he by force entered the Plt’s house & carried a feather bed and bolster of Ten pounds price & a looking glass of fifty shillings price, and with other trespasses doing great damage to property. Thomas Bridgeman, of a jury impannelled & sworne, found for Plt. 500 pounds of tobacco to be paid by Harcum.

John Bridgeman, member of grandjury panel, do find Dan’ll Swullivant for an Unchristian part in burying his serv’t and also John Taylor’s maid for having a Bastard Child and John Sutherland for succoring Tobacco a Sunday and the Surveyors of the Highwayes in Cherry Poynt.. It is ordered the sheriff summon the delinquents to the next court and that the Churchwardens prosecute those that are presented by them the next court and the rest to be proceeded with as the law directs.

Hobson on the 20th day of Sept’r next to audit the acco’ts betweene the said parties and report their proceedings therein to the next court.

Whereas at a court held for this county the 16 Aug, 1705 in the difference depending between John Bridgeman & Christian his wife one of the daughters of Josias Long dec’ed Plt’s & Alexander Mulraine of the Exec’r of the s’d dec’ed def’t it was ordered that Col. George Cooper, Col. Peter Hack, M’r Phill’ Shapleigh should meet at the house of Thomas Hobson & audit the acco’ts between the s’d parties & report their proceedings to them the next court which order not being accomplished it’s therefore now ordered that the same auditors meet at the same place the last day of this instant July if faire if not the next faire day & persue the direcc’ons of the former order & report their proceedings therein to the next court.

An Inventory of the Estate of Elinor Welch dec’d. was presented to his Majesties Justices to the court by John Bridgman Adm. of the said dec’d and is admitted to record. Judgement is granted to Richard Lees, Son, the sum of 1764 pounds of Tobacco ordered to be paid out of the said estate as valued in the inventory (allowing 2 ..a pound for Tobacco) with Cash at Execution.
Judgement is granted to John Bridgman for the sum of 405 pounds of Tobacco for funeral charges and other expenses to which he hath made. Cash

Hanah Bridgman of St Stephens Parrish in this county presented by the grandjury for having a bastard child she is fined and ordered that she pay up to this ……..of the said parish according to law with cost at execution.
On the motion of Jonathan Edwards greatest Creditors of John Bridgman dec’d; Thomas Harding John Haynie Sen.o Joseph Humphreys and Andrew Hannegan or any likes of them, are appointed to meet some time before the next court being first sworn by the next Justices and apprasis of the said dec’d’s Estate in money and ordered than the said Edwards establish an inventory thereof upon Oath to the next court.

I the said William Macdead late of Northumberland County, Va.in St Stephens Parish ,but now of St. Mary's County, Maryland deed John Hudnal Gent. of Northumberland, Co., 50 acres , a tract of land sold by John Lees and by several conveyences but last from …. Thomas sould John Bridgeman dated March 13, 1676/7, whose granddaughter is my wife by whose Right I am legally impowered to make this deed, it being with her consent, it is bounded as followeth…..It beginning at the front of the aforesaid Tho’s .monts, land by William Downing and the south line is Rish Gibble, Henry Wickers on the other side for the breadth of it and the length of it is to run from Downings along the riverward’s till he has 50 acres of land...William McDeed his mark, Mary McDeed her mark...This Deed of Indenture with - - - - - - -was acknowledged in Northumberland County Court by William Betts- - - - - attorney of Wm McDade to John Hudnal on Mary's oath did relinquish her right in the said land ............Then the within mentioned Mary McDade said what she did on - - - therewithin Deed was Voluntary without - - - - - - being examined by Charles Lez and Jno Keen, Mary McDeed her mark . ...........................that I William McDeed late of St Stephens Parish Northumberland County in the Colony of Virginia but now of St Mary's County in the providence of Maryland Do Constitute and ordain or appoint my trusty friend William Betts of Northumberland County in the Colony of Virginia to acknowledge and make over to John Hudnal Gent. of the county and colony last mentioned to him a certain parcel of land in Northumberland County and in the parish of St Stephens beginning at William Downing line and the south lying on Richard Gribble and Henry Wicker as on the other side for the head of it and the length of it is for to run from the south of Wm Downing to the river ward till he has fifty acres of land now I the abovesaid Wm McDeed dos ratify confirm and alton all and every thing and things that the said Wm Betts shall art do or perform in the above said premises to be as firm and staple as if I were there personally present and acted the same as witnessed my hand and seal this - - - Day of Jan'ry in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and twenty three four
