Mrs. Alice Margaret McDade, 89, formerly of Naples, Florida, died Friday, March 24 at the Copper Ridge Nursing Home, Sykesville. She was the wife of Thomas Lemuel McDade, who died March 16, 1993.
Born October 15, 1916 in Petersville, she was a daughter of the late Harry D. and Alma Jane Henderson Axline.
Mrs. McDade was a member of St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church, Burkittsville and the Brunswick Chapter #97 Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are two sisters, Nora Coates of Knoxville and Kathleen Bartgis and husband Nick of Mt. Airy; and a brother, David Axline of Apex, N.C. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Snoots; and four brothers, Theodore Axline, Charles Axline, Lee Axline and Eugene Axline.
Mrs. McDade is at the Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 1201 North Market Street, Frederick, where the family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. Monday, March 27 at which time services will begin with her pastor, Kimberly Nunberg, officiating.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Burkittsville. Bearers will be all nephews, Charles Axline, David Coates, Dennis Axline, Jeb Bartgis, Ted Axline and David Axline.
The family requests that memorials be made in memory of Mrs. McDade to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140-4131.
