Columbus, GA -   Lillian Vondula Hurtt Streetman, 97, of Columbus, died Sunday, April 3, 2005 in the city.


Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, in the Cox Funeral Home Chapel, Hamilton, GA.  Interment will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton, GA

Visitation with the family will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at the funeral home.


Mrs. Streetman was born on March 9, 1908 in LaPine, Alabama, daughter of the late Cephus Abraham  and Mary Louisa Benbow Hurtt. She was the widow of  James Silas Streetman, Sr., and also prededed in death by sons, SFC James Silas, Jr., Michael I., and daughter, Lillian Vondula Kirkland; grandsons, Lloyd George.Kirkland, Jr., Michael Todd Streetman and granddaughter, Lee Ellen Thurmond; great grandson, Jason Karl Kirkland, and great granddaughter, Jennifer Leigh Wilson;  brothers, Jeffrey, George, and Benjamin Hurtt; sisters, Agnes Streetman, Launa Hobbs, Magdalene Carpenter, and Gladys Harris.


She is survived by son Bobby Streetman, Marion County, GA, and daughters, Eunie Mae Wilson, Hamilton, GA, Frances June Mccall, Columbus, GA, Maryln Murray and Sharon Jenell Ray(James), Marion County, GA, daughter in law Margaret Streetman, Columbus, GA; grand children Ramona McConnell(John, Sr.), Delane Cunningham (Robert), Charlie, Jr.(Mary Lou), James, Bradford(Susan) Wilson; Earl, Gerald, Stephen(Kay) McCall, June Lynn McCall; Jess Thurmond; Julie Rehfeldt(Scott), Randy(Donna), Gary(Susan), and Wendy Watson; Stacy Avera(Matthew); great grandchildren; John Jr.(Ashton), and Danny McConnell; Michael Dowling, Jr.( Amy), Ryan and Lauren Cunningham; April Smithwick(Steve) and Paula Wilson; James Wilson(Jennifer); Laura Beth Moseley(Kyle), Matthew Wilson; Earl R., Estella, Elissa, Vincent, and  Tamalyn(Mali) McCall; Aaron, Alaina, Ansley and Ashlynn Avera; great great grandchildren; Jack, Madison and Lily McConnell; Nathaniel Cunningham; Destene and Justin McCall,  Skyler Brooks.


Mrs. Streetman was a member of patriotic organizations, Oglethorpe Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Lizzie Rutherford Chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy, Major Phillip Cook Chapter Daughters of 1812. She was also a Gold Star Mother.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her name to either of these organizations, the POW/MIA League of Families or Columbus Hospice.
