Mary Tom McDade Prince

Asheville - Mary Tom McDade "Tommie" Prince, 79, formerly of

Vermont Avenue, Asheville, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at the

Brian Center in Hendersonville.

Mrs. Prince was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late William Arthur McDade Sr. and Annie

Cook McDade. She was married to Robert Matthew Prince Sr., who died Sept. 8, 2003, and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Ann Whiteside and Effie Evans, and two brothers, E.B. McDade and William Arthur McDade Jr. She

was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Robert M. Prince Jr. and his wife, Margie, of Edgewater, Md., Gary Alan Prince and his wife, Pamela, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Daniel McDade Prince

and his wife, Leigh, of Hendersonville; two sisters, Chloe Thompson of Asheville and Dorothy Kolar of Palm Harbor, Fla.; two grandchildren, Michael Prince and Natalie Rollins; and two great-grandchildren, Naomi Prince and Cierra Rollins.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald N. Welborn officiating. Burial will be at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
