Joe Billy McDade

Funeral services for Joe Billy McDade, age 79, of Lindale, are scheduled for 2
p.m. Wednesday, June 29, in the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel with the
Rev. Sherman Mayfield and Frankie McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow at
Sabine Cemetery. Mr. McDade died Sunday morning, June 26, 2005, in a Lindale
nursing center. He was born April 2, 1926, in Lindale to John Henry and Ida Mae
Brown McDade and was a lifelong resident of Lindale. Mr. McDade retired from
Southwestern Bell after 39 years and served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant
during World War II. He was a member of Carmel Baptist Church, Lindale VFW,
former fire chief of Lindale Volunteer Fire Department, past commander of the
Lindale American Legion and a member of Southwestern Bell Pioneers Club.

Mr. McDade was preceded in death by wives, Dorothy Jean Paul McDade in 1985 and
Helen Frances Armstrong McDade in 2005; grandson, Benjamin Kyle McDade in 1979;
five brothers and one sister.
He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Jo Carroll and Eddie Allen and
Paula Kay Hendricks, all of Lindale; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Rose
McDade of Corpus Christi; sister, Lena Mae Mitchell of Mineola; six
grandchildren, Kim Norlie, Brent Allen, Nicklaus Jones, Orlinda Hendricks,
Justin Crimmins and Michelle Crimmins; four great-grandchildren, Meredith
Rosser, Coleman Allen, Emily Jones and Elizabeth Murray; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Allen, Kenneth Norlie, John Alan McDade,
Mike Allen, Brad Fisher, Dennis Bodiford and Kendall Stanley.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
