Martha McDade
Mrs. Martha Elizabeth McDade, 83, of Inverness, Fla., formerly of Otego, died
Friday, May 18, 2007.
She was born Aug. 21, 1923, daughter of the late Warren and Emma Strickland
Anderson in Mount Ivy.
Martha was a senior vice commander for Disabled American Veterans, chapter 70 in
Inverness; a member of Living Information for Today in Inverness, the Red Hat
Society of Inverness, Apple Dumplin Group and The Upstate New York Club. She
enjoyed playing the piano, sewing and was the matriarch of the family. She was a
member of Ladentown Methodist Church, Pomona.
She is survived by two sons, William (Deborah) G. McDade of Jensen Beach Fla.,
James W. McDade of Suffern; her daughter-in-law, Linda M. McDade of
Garrettsville; two sisters, Mary Gallagher of Oregon; Mabel Barnhart of
California; five grandchildren, William McDade Jr., Vermont, Serena McDade of
Otego, Amanda McDade of Schenectady, Kayla McDade of Otego, Meaghan McDade of
Pomona; and two great-grandchildren, Kyler and Alyssa.
She was predeceased by her husband, John H. McDade, in 2002 and by two sons,
George McDade and John McDade.
