Eleanor T. Bartrem was born in County Armaugh, Ireland, November 20, 1830. She
came to America when 14 years of age, lived in Pennsylvania four years, was united in
marriage to Alexander McDaid in 1848, when they moved to Ohio, and in the fall of 1854
they came to Gratiot county and settled on section 28, where the remainder of her life (with the exception of
three years) was spent.

There were seven children born to this union, four sons and three daughters. The
husband and two sons preceded her, the former having died May 15, 1902.

The subject of this sketch united with the M.E. church when 13 years of age and has
been a member ever since. She departed this life April 15, 1907, being 76 years, four
months and 25 days old. She leaves two sons, three daughters, one sister, eighteen
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. Chamberlain of Ashley. Funeral and interment at
North Star.
