William McDade


Mr. William E. McDade, Abingdon Chapel, 83, a resident of the Avon Nursing Home died at 4:40 am Sunday, October 8, 2006 at the nursing home.
He was born on April 14, 1923 in Macomb, IL to David and Cora Faler McDade. He married Carol Lee Landon DeJaynes on July 20, 1956 in Abingdon. She preceded him in death on May 21, 2002.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Surviving are two sisters, Mildred Peterson of Coarsegold, CA and Geraldine Peterson of Fresno, CA; two brothers, George McDade of Portland, OR and Eldon “Bud” McDade of Waterloo, IA; a stepson, Rod (and Jeneine) DeJaynes of Prairie City; 7 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren, nieces& nephews.
He had lived in the Avon and Abingdon and St. Augustine areas most of his adult life.
He served in the Army during WW II and later in the Korean Conflict.
He worked at Gale Products in Galesburg.
He was a member of the Avon United Methodist Church.
Graveside service and Military Rites will be at 2:30 pm Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at the Bushnell Cemetery. Rev. John E. Simpson and Eleanor Landon will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Tuesday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.
