LENOIR - Pauline Pritchard McDade, 90, of Granite Falls, passed away at her residence on Friday, Feb. 10, 2006.
She was born in Avery County to the late Rev. J.W. Pritchard and Emma Maltba Pritchard.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Eugene McDade; three children, Trudy Lenette McDade, Alice Faye McDade and Roger Dale McDade; five great-grandchildren, Michael Kirby, Kirt and Kyle Williams, Ginger Williams Webb and Laura Rebecca Hall; and two great-great-grandchildren, Caleb Webb and Caitlyn Starnes.


She is survived by her daughters, Betty Clark and Willa Dean Nix of Sawmills; two brothers, Raymond Pritchard and wife, Jean, of Winston-Salem and Herbert Pritchard and wife, Mary, of Boone; four sisters, Aileen Fox (twin sister) of Hudson and Elizabeth Curtis, Willie Lee Coffey and Ruth Nicholson of Hickory; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.


Mrs. McDade was retired from Shuford Mills and was a member of Dry Ponds Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Hospitality Committee and Bible School Committee. She was a member of the Young At Heart Seniors Group.


The family will receive friends at Dry Ponds Baptist Church on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, from 3 to 4 p.m. The service will follow at 4 p.m., with Dr. Rick Crouse officiating. Burial will be in Dry Ponds Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Kirby Jr., Jeremy Wilson, Jarret Hall, Nicholas Wilson, Zachary Starnes and Joshua Starnes.
