John Roach is believed to be the brother of our James Roach in NC, Orange Co. ------as are William Roach ,Littleberry Roach, and Lewis Roach. Mary Partin is believed to be their sister. These brothers and sister were all living in Orange Co, as shown on the 1790 US Census, and on tax list and property deeds before that year. Littleberry, Lewis, and Mary--with their families--were found in SC in 1800 and later. Much information has been gathered that shows a large number of our Roach Family Tree branches grew to maturity in that state. Ellenor, a daughter of James, married William Boy Ray in NC, Orange Co and moved to Attala Co.. , Ms., where she raised a large family whose descendents are found there even now. Daughter Elizabeth married Thomas Cate in Orange Co.., NC, and remained there many years, raising large families whose descendents may be found there even now. Sons John Green and Drury moved to Grainger Co.., TN., where their older brother and our ancestor Absalom Roach had migrated about 1800. There they each raised large families. I have been in contact with several of these descendents while I have been doing research for our family tree.
After James died in 1792, his widow Ann married John Redding March 19, 1798. There were no children born to them. It is believed they moved to TN with Absalom and his family where John died before 1810 and Ann died after and before the 1820 census.

John Green Roach was indentured to George Vaughn on the 6th day of March in 1797 in Person Co. NC by Ann Roach wife of James Roach deceased. (Source: Person Co. NC Court Minutes, book 1,page 302.) He was again indentured to William Roach (a cousin?) on Feb. 21, 1798. Green later moved near his brothers Absalom and Drury in Grainger Co. TN. where he raised a large family and died many years later. Descendents of John Green and Margaret are found in most central and western states of the US.
