Joseph Cobb was born in Washington County Georgia in 1799, died in Alabama in 1876, married Mary Cloud, daughter of Jeremiah, Sr. and Elizabeth Cloud, former South Carolina residents, who moved from Alabama to Austin County Texas, she was a sister to H. G. W. Cloud and James Cloud, who married Joseph's first cousins, Polly and Jennie McDade.Marriage Notes (Mary Elizabeth Cloud)
Among the children of Joseph and Mary (Cloud) Cobb were Jacob and Jeremiah, both said to have been killed in the War Between the States; and Franklin, a resident of Barbour County as late as 1876. Frank shared in his grandfather, Jeremiah Cloud's estate, which was administered in Austin County Texas in 1861.
